How do I make sure links in documents are not clickable?

Links in documents are generally clickable In the Secure Viewer when they are formatted like a URL. Example: http://www.datasite.com

This includes links to videos or externally hosted files.

If a user downloads a Native File document the links are also active.


To prevent users from being able to click on links in documents:

  • Flatten the document to a single image prior to upload and test after upload to ensure link is disabled.
  • Ensure that you have removed any underlying hyperlinks in the content or redacted those areas of the document. 
  • Set documents to 'view only' in the Permissions tab.
  • If you have given download access to the document, choose the 'Watermark PDF' Download Option for the role.
