During the course of creating and maintaining a project, it may be desirable to add users with limited administrative capabilities to your administrative team. These users are able to perform content uploading duties within the project, but are restricted from full admin functionality. 

Note: If your project utilizes a Sandbox, reviewers with manage permissions can be given access with limited functionality. See Sandbox - Reviewers with Manage Permissions.

Upload access is granted within the Permissions tab by selecting the furthest right permission setting on the permissions bar, represented by the 'cogs' icon.




Reviewers with manage permissions are able to create folders, upload files, copy unpublished items, move unpublished items, rename unpublished items, replace unpublished items, and move unpublished items to the recycle bin. All content uploaded by reviewers with manage permissions is posted as unpublished, inheriting destination permissions settings by default. However, admins can change the default upload permissions if desired (see Default Permissions Settings).

It is strongly recommended that project admins review permissions settings on work performed by reviewers with manage permissions prior to publishing.


Reviewers with manage permissions can also perform various actions depending on the published/unpublished status of content:
 

• Unpublished content - Can drag and drop items within the folder, and into other folders (assuming manage permissions are granted on the destination folder); can move, copy, replace, and rename files
• Published content - Can drag and drop items within the folder, but not into other folders; can NOT move, copy, replace, or rename files (these actions can be taken if the published content is unpublished prior to attempting updates/edits)

For Acquire and Pipeline projects that have auto-publish enabled, reviewers with manage permissions can drag and drop items within the folder, and into other folders (assuming manage permissions are granted on the destination folder); can move, copy, replace, and rename files.

Moved and copied items inherit destination permissions and remain unpublished regardless of the published/unpublished status of the destination folder. For instructions on moving, reordering, and copying, see Move a Folder or File and Copy Folders or Files.

Reviewers with manage permissions cannot change user permissions or site settings. Since access is governed by permissions, access for these users can be controlled at the folder level.
 

• Filerooms or subfolders where upload access has been granted display an overlaid 'cog' icon for the user
• The Upload and Add Folder buttons appear when a user with edit permissions accesses a folder where they've been granted upload permissions
• The Move and Copy buttons appear when eligible items are selected via a checkbox

Reviewers with manage permissions can also be given additional feature access by project admins if desired. For example, they can be granted access to analytics to run reports, and can also be given access to redaction tools to perform manual redactions, or approve system-generated (AI) redactions.
