Before importing your Excel tracker, here are tips to ensure a smooth import:

 

• If you plan to create a fileroom from the tracker, you need to have one column for folder numbers and one column for folder names.
  • If you want subfolders, then the numbering of your Folder Number column should be as follows: 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2, 2.1, 2.2, etc.

 

• Our importer determines what column type each column should be. As an example, if you have numbers in a column, it might choose a Numeric column type.
  • If you plan to create a fileroom from the tracker, for the Folder Number and Folder Name columns, choose one of two column types in the dropdown under the column name:
    • Folder Number: Request Number or Short Text
    • Folder Name: Requested Item or Short Text
      
      
  • Our Status and Priority column types have pre-selected options that can't be changed:
    • Status: Open, In Progress, Closed
    • Priority: High, Medium, Low
      
      
  • If you want to have different selections, you can change the column type from the dropdown under the column name to Single Select or Multi-Select, which allows you to create and edit options after the Excel sheet is imported.

 

• If you have formulas or charts/graphs, the formulas are removed during the import. After the import, you may click on the Column Settings button for any formula column, and enter the necessary formula. After saving, the formula will apply and fill data on the column accordingly.

1. Click the Create New Tracker button at the top left of the Trackers tab.
2. Select Import Tracker from the options displayed.
3. Click Browse or drag and drop your Excel Tracker file.
4. If your Excel tracker includes multiple worksheets, select the ones you wish to import. They are all imported as separate trackers.
   • Tracker needs a minimum of two columns to import successfully.
     
5. The importer will start on Column Headers. Select the correct column headers and move on to the next step.
6. Next, review the column types while you are in the Import Review mode. Click the triangle drop-down arrow to see options for updating the column type.
   • Review the data populated and address any invalid values by conforming the input values with the ones allowed in Datasite or by changing the column type.
7. For Pipeline there are required columns. Select Edit next to Required Columns Mapped at the top, and choose the columns you want to be the required columns.
8. Name your tracker and complete the import.

If you have more than one Excel tab, click Save & Next and repeat steps 4-7. Otherwise, click Save & Close.
