One very likely reason why you are unable to open your compressed archive is a Windows limitation called File path Limit Exceeded.

Your USB device may have deep folder structures and when the compressed archives are copied to another location on your computer, the file path can be too long.

During USB creation Datasite projects default to truncating titles to avoid a Windows file path limit, however, they still may be too long depending on how many nested folders are created.

We recommend saving the extraction to the desktop or directly to the computer hard drive (often C:) to shorten the file path.

Regardless of whether the file path is exceeded or not, we recommend using 7-zip or another extraction app to unpack zip files.
