Some projects require multi-factor authentication (MFA) to sign in every time, as designated by Project Admin.

 

However, it is recommended that all Datasite users enable MFA at the account level, regardless of whether or not project admins require it on projects accessible by you.

Three types of multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods are available to Datasite users.  Available MFA methods include:

 

• Email
• Text/SMS
• Authenticator App
  
  

Your initial authentication is performed via email. Once verified, SMS and authenticator app options can be added to your profile to provide additional convenience. 

 

To attach MFA to your Datasite user profile:
 

  1   Go to https://datasite.com.

  2   Enter your email address and password to log in.

  3   In the upper right, click your name and select My Profile.

 

  4   Choose Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

 

  5   In the User Verification modal, click your email address, then enter the code you receive via email.

 

  6   Toggle on Multi-factor Authentication.

 

  7   Open a project.

 

  8   Select the plus (+) icon on the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) page to add authentication options. Options and their functionalities include:

Email

An email is sent to your registered email address with a verification code. It's valid for 10 minutes.

SMS

A text message is sent to your confirmed phone number with a verification code. It's valid for 10 minutes.

Authenticator App

Open your authenticator app and review the correct verification code.

Once setup is complete, you'll be instructed to enter a verification code received via your chosen method, in order to log in to Datasite.

MFA is then required on every subsequent login.

If you currently have user MFA enabled, but haven't enabled all your authentication options, see the steps below.

To add SMS and/or Authenticator App methods:

  1   Click your name and select My Profile.

  2   In the navigation pane, select Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

  3   Next to 'Authentication Options' click the plus (+) icon. You'll need to authenticate your identity to modify your methods.

  4   Choose additional methods from the 'Add an authentication method' window and follow the prompts to link chosen options to your profile.

Tip: If you enter your password incorrectly 4 consecutive times, click Forgot Password and reset your password to prevent your account from being locked. 

You're allowed up to 5 consecutive attempts to correctly enter your password. After 5 consecutive incorrect attempts, your account is locked and you must reactivate your login. To reactivate your login once your account has been locked, click the Forgot Password link to reset your password.
