Deleting a Q&A Post

Some Q&A posts can be deleted. When a trash can icon exists in the upper right corner of the post field, this indicates a post that can be deleted.

For both Answer and Question teams:

• Posts in draft status can be deleted by the author or assignee
• Posts awaiting approval can be deleted by an approver
• Submitted posts cannot be deleted

​​​​​Note: Post counts are displayed in the question and answer list grids in a column below this icon . Hover above the icon and click the up or down arrow to sort the list by threads with the most or fewest posts.

Closing a Q&A Thread

Once a question is answered, you may desire to close the Q&A thread in order to avoid irrelevant posting or the introduction of a new question that should have its own thread.

• Answer team members may close a thread in any status at any time.
• Closed threads remain in the Question List, and can display a padlock icon in the status column.
• Closed threads can be re-opened at a later date by an Answer team member.

To close a Q&A thread,

  1   From within a question pane, click Close Thread (lock icon) located in the upper right of the question pane.

  2   Select Close Question.


To re-open a Q&A thread,

  1   From within a question pane, click Re-open Question located in the upper right of the question pane.

  2   Select Re-open Question.


Note: Within the Question List grid, you can filter to show only closed threads, or only open threads, by accessing the Filters tab at the far right of the pane, choosing the 'Closed' filter and selecting either 'Closed' or 'Open' .
