Users accessing your project are typically required to accept a Conditions of Access disclaimer. As a Site Administrator, you can define the content of the disclaimer and how often this disclaimer appears to users. Disclaimers can contain up to 125,000 characters.
 

To set up the Conditions of Access disclaimer:

  1   Go to Settings > Disclaimer card, and click the gear icon.

  2   Choose the Display Frequency of your disclaimer. Using the drop-down menu, select the desired option from the following choices:

• Never: The disclaimer will not appear, and immediate user access to the project is granted.
• First Login: Each unique user must accept the disclaimer upon their first login only. It will not appear for subsequent logins.
• Every Login: Users must accept the disclaimer each time the log in to the project.

  3   Enter the Display Title for the disclaimer. (ex. Conditions of Access)

  4   Edit/add any disclaimer text you would like displayed to the user. There is default text included. This text may be customized to meet the needs of your project using the editing tools within the Disclaimer Message text area.

  5   Click Save. You can click Reset Default to reset the disclaimer text back to the original text.


Disclaimers can also be applied to individual files, prompting reviewers to accept the disclaimer before the file can be viewed/printed/downloaded.

To attach an individual disclaimer to a specific document:

1. In the Documents tab, select the check box associated with the file.
2. Select More Actions > Add Disclaimer.
3. Enter the desired title and message, then click Add Disclaimer.

Points to note about individual document disclaimers:

• Adding an individual document disclaimer disables the ability to preview the file by hovering on the file title
• When attempting to download multiple files, if one or more has a disclaimer users are prompted to accept disclaimers prior to downloading. If the disclaimer is not accepted the file is not included in the downloaded material
• If a file with a disclaimer is copied, the disclaimer is nullified and must be reapplied to the copied file
• If a file with a disclaimer is replaced, reviewers are not required to accept the disclaimer again to view the file
• Disclaimer acceptance activity can be viewed by selecting a file with an individual disclaimer and choosing More Actions > Disclaimer Activity.
