The Datasite Archive™ application allows users to conveniently archive Datasite Acquire® and Datasite Diligence® project content and reports in a Datasite Archive™ project. This can be initiated while projects are in flight, or upon closure. 

Admins can create digital archives for a counterparty or to retain content at the end of a transaction. Datasite Archive™ provides a legally defensible snapshot of a project as of the archive date, including audit reports. Archive project admins can invite users to the project to view archived material.

Once created, archive projects are accessed in the My Archives page.

Note: This article details instructions for creating a Datasite Archive project. Other archiving options presented in the Archives tab include downloading an archive to your project or ordering a customized USB.

To create a Datasite Archive:

Within the Archives tab,

  1   Select Request Archive.

  2   In the Request Archives card, click Set Up Archive.

  3   Choose the recipient

• If sending to a Project Admin: You can change the archive type (role or fileroom), Archive project name, and choose to include trackers and audit reports.
  • The Archive will include all filerooms and content, all Q&A content, all Trackers content, and Audit reports.
• If sending to a non-Admin: You can invite yourself to the project, rename the Archive project, and choose to include team-specific trackers.
  • The Archive will include all published and viewable content for that role and trackers by the applicable team.

  4   Accept the terms of use.

  5   Select Create Archive.


Your Archive has now been created and you'll receive an email invitation to the project.

Even after your project is in 'Close Requested' or 'Closed' status, you can still create an archive of the project by following these same steps.

Datasite Archive features

• Documents tab
  • Folder structure matches the archived project; files are indexed and searchable
  • Files can be viewed, printed, or downloaded
    • Note: The archive is a 'snapshot' of a project at the time of archive, and therefore files cannot be moved, copied, replaced, or renamed
• Trackers tab - If your project included trackers they are automatically included in the archive; you can navigate, export, and view trackers, but no updates/changes can be made
• Users tab - Invite users and download a user list
• Options tab - Download a comfort letter, or cancel your Datasite Archive subscription. Also within this area you can rename your project by clicking the pencil icon beside your project title
