Findings consist of all issues or opportunities identified by your buy team. A status snapshot of findings is provided on your project Dashboard. Findings are created and managed within the Findings tab.

Prior to creating findings, Finding Types must first be established. Finding Types are categories used to group findings subsets (e.g. Legal, HR, Accounting, Real Estate, etc.)


To create finding types, from within the Findings tab:

  1   Select Manage Finding Types.

  2   In the Finding Types field, enter a title.

  3   Click Add.

  4   Click Done.

In this area, finding types can be renamed and deleted. Only finding types not currently assigned to a finding can be deleted.


To create a finding:

  1   From within the Findings tab, click Add Finding.

  2   In the provided fields, type in or select the following required information:
 

• Teams - Teams must be created prior to assigning to a finding (see Teams)
• Title
• Type - At least one finding type must be created prior to creating findings
• Priority
• Status

  3   If desired add:
 

• Description - Reason for creating the finding or an outline of the issue
• Impact - How does the issue impact the potential deal
• Mitigation - How to control (reduce or enhance) the impact; all users adding information in this area are added to the Mitigation Contributors list

  4   Findings are often associated with information contained in a particular project file or file set. If useful, connect relevant files to your finding via the Link to index button. 

  5   Select Save.


Your finding is now added to the findings list in the main panel within the Findings tab. Note that findings can be updated and edited at any time after creation. Click the finding title in the main listing to open an existing finding.

Drag and drop column heads in your findings grid to create your preferred column sequence. Use column filters (below column heads) to filter the grid view.

Findings creation can also be initiated within the document viewer. To do so, within the document viewer click the Findings icon  located in the upper viewer options toolbar. Follow the steps above to create your finding. Note, the document you were viewing upon initiating the creation of a finding has automatically been attached to the new finding.

To export an Excel version of the findings grid, select Export in the top the Findings tab.

 

Member Permissions

Admins are allowed to define user access to findings in one of two ways.

Findings can be designated as:

• Public - All users can see and interact with public trackers; this is the default setting
• Restricted - Restricts visibility to chosen individuals and/or Teams

To restrict member permissions:

  1   Click into the desired finding and select Members.

  2   Click the Restrict Access toggle to switch it to Restricted.

  3   Within the Restricted pane, select the gear icon.

  4   Click into the 'Add Members and Teams' field.

  5   Type to search, or scroll through the dropdown menu to select users and teams allowed to access the restricted finding (to remove an accidental selection, click the 'x' in the user/teams bubble).

  6   Click Done.

To revert the finding back to public status, move the Restricted toggle back to the unrestricted position and confirm by clicking Yes, Make Public.

 

Copy From a Project

Admins can copy finding types from another project into their current project, provided they are admins on both projects.

To copy finding types from one project to another:

  1   Click Settings.

  2   In the left navigation pane, choose Copy from a Project.

  3   Click into the 'Add data from' field to display a list of projects containing findings that can be copied into the current project.

  4   Select the project and choose from available finding types via checkbox selection.

  5   Click Begin Copy.
