Templates allow Project Admins to save existing project trackers, fileroom structures in the index, users, and teams for future use, allowing an efficient means to quickly copy these items into projects, rather than creating them manually.

Once copied into a project, changes or edits can be made as desired.

The Templates page is located in the left side-bar.



When accessing Templates, you'll notice that within both the Trackers and Filerooms tabs, several example templates have been supplied.

Trackers can be saved from and copied to Acquire, Diligence, and Prepare project types.

Filerooms can be saved from and copied to both Acquire and Diligence project types.

Save Templates

Trackers and filerooms

First, choose whether you'd like to save a tracker or fileroom by selecting the appropriate tab. Then:

 1   Click Save From A Project.

 2   Expand the drop-down menu, select the desired project from the list provided, and click Next.

 3   Select an available tracker or fileroom and click Next.

 4   Optionally, rename your template. The existing tracker or fileroom name is entered by default. 

 5   Click Save.

Your new template now resides in the list of templates available for copying into a project.

 

Trackers templates can be edited. Click a tracker template name to open the editor. Edits will auto-save to the template. Modifying a template doesn't modify existing trackers in any projects.

 

Users

Select the Users tab. Then:

 1   Click Add Users From Project.

 2   Using the drop-down menus, select a project and desired users from that project.

 3   Click Add.

To add users from your Templates to a project, select users via checkbox and click Copy Users To Project. Select from available projects and choose Invite, then save or send invitations as desired.

 

Note: If a user is already invited to your project, their email address appears red and you cannot proceed with the invitation until you've removed them from the invitation field.

 

Teams

Select the Teams tab. Then:

 1   Click Add Team.

 2   Enter a unique name for the new team.

 3   Choose whether you'd like to source the team members from an active project or your Users template tab.

 4   Click Done.

To add users from your Templates to a project, select the team checkbox and click Copy Team To Project. Select from available projects and choose Customize Invite, then save or send invitations as desired.

 

Note: If a user is already invited to your project, their email address appears red and you cannot proceed with the invitation until you've removed them from the invitation field.

 

 

Copy Templates to a project 

Select the desired template by selecting the associated checkbox. Then:

 1   Click Copy To A Project.

 2   Expand the drop-down menu and select the desired destination project from the list provided. If a tracker has been selected, name your tracker. Filerooms assume the existing name and can be renamed within the destination project when the copy is complete.

 3   Click Begin Copy. A brief onscreen notice appears when the copy is complete.
 
Your copied item is now available within the destination project.

 

Export 

To export a template, select the desired template via checkbox, then click Export. The export now resides in your local Downloads area in Excel format.
 

 

Template availability

International data privacy laws require that saved templates are only available for use in the data center region where your project is hosted (check the Datasite security and governance FAQs for additional information).

If the template you are attempting to save is not available in your selection list, it's likely you're attempting to save a template across data center regional jurisdictions. Select the data location in the upper right to switch regions.
