Files that have errors or require attention after the upload phase are placed in the Action Required section within the Shortcuts panel. Within that list, you have the option to delete the record, make the file downloadable only, or replace it with another version.

Common reasons for a file to enter the Action Required area include password-protected files, corrupt files, files containing a virus, or unsupported (usually proprietary) file types.

In the Documents tab, Action Required files are denoted by a red '!' in the information row associated with the file in the content window. 

Files that fail to convert to a format displayable in the secure viewer can be converted to 'Download Only' files. This option allows users with download permissions to download the file locally in its native format. Choosing this option doesn't change the Status of a file (Published or Unpublished).

To make a file downloadable only:

 1  Navigate to Documents > Shortcuts panel.
 2  Click Action Required.
 3  Within the failed file listing in the middle content panel, select the check box(es) associated with the file(s) that you would like to make downloadable only.
 4  Click Download Access Only in the top option bar.
 5  In the resulting popup, click Make Downloadable.

After they are uploaded, password-protected files are placed in the Action Required Short Cut. Within this area, you may enter the password to process the file. A file cannot be actioned without the password, as the password allows Datasite to scan the file for viruses.

To process a password-protected file:

 1  Navigate to Documents and locate the file in the content grid. It is denoted by red 'Processing Failed' text in the 'Status' column.
 2  Click the red 'Processing Failed' text.
 3  Enter the correct password in the provided field.
 4  Click Submit.

To delete an Action Required file:

 1  Navigate to Documents > Shortcuts panel.
 2  Click Action Required.
 3  Within the file listing in the middle content panel, select the check box(es) associated with the file(s) that you would like to delete.
 4  Click Delete in the top option bar.
 5  In the resulting popup, click Delete Forever.

To replace an Action Required file:

 1  Navigate to Documents > Shortcuts panel.
 2  Click Action Required.
 3  Within the failed file listing in the middle content panel, select the check box associated with the file that you would like to replace.
 4  Click Modify, then select Replace With a File in the top option bar.
 5  Select Browse, then navigate to and select the file you would like to use.
 6  In the resulting popup, click Replace.
