It is recommended to review the Redaction article in conjunction with the information below in order to gain a full understanding of redaction features, document statuses, etc.

Datasite employs a unique Bulk Mark with AI feature, allowing increased speed and efficiency when redacting files. Project admins can enable the feature to scan files existing within each fileroom for certain information types. 

Information types include:

• Date of birth (age)
• Company name
• Currencies
• Email address
• Financial account numbers
• National ID number
• Internet IP addresses and urls
• Passport ID number
• Person names
• Phone numbers
• Physical address
• Tax ID number

The above information types can be identified in the following languages:

• English
• Spanish
• French
• German
• Italian
• Chinese (Simplified)*
• Dutch*
• Greek*
• Japanese*
• Korean*
• Brazilian Portuguese*

*One or more information types may not be available in this language.

Note that while manual redaction is available to Reviewers with Manage Permissions, automated redaction can only be configured by project admins.

System parameters:

• The feature scans each document for Information types upon upload
• Automatically redacted files must still be confirmed by a project admin before posting to the index; review of automatically redacted files is strongly encouraged prior to confirmation

To use the Redact with Information Types feature, navigate to Redaction. In the left pane:

  1   Under the 'Bulk Mark with AI' heading in the left navigation pane, choose Set Default Category For Info Types.

  2   For each information type, click the dropdown arrow to select a category for redaction. Discard or Confirm changes.

  3   Select Select Folders To Scan.

  4   Choose filerooms or folders and click Start Scanning.

Matching suggestions now show in the associated folder/fileroom card. Click the arrow to expand search results. 

Click into the 'New AI Suggestions' subtab. From here, ignore items and mark items for redaction.
Items marked for redaction appear in your main Redaction grid.

• Ignored items stay in the 'Ignored Suggestions' subtab and can be retrieved later for redaction if needed
• Marked files show as drafts in the Redaction grid; the 'Updated By' column displays 'System'. System updated files must be selected via checkbox and confirmed by an admin. In the grid, click the file name to open the document in the redaction viewer to review the file prior to confirming

Note: Automated redactions are restricted to:

• Projects with less than 750,000 total pages
• Single files with less than 10,000 redaction suggestions within the document
